Sahainan Permaculture Organic Farm is in Thung Chang District (Thai: ทุ่งช้าง), in the northern part of Nan Province, northern Thailand. If you come from Nan/Pua/Chiang Klang/Chiang Mai/Bangkok, our farm is located 1 km before arriving Thung Chang, in the village named Huay Yang, and then need to travel up to hill for 3km , before arriving village named Ban Huay Phan.

How to get here:
From Nan : If you are in the Nan town or air port, you can take the local bus in the Nan Bus Station. From Nan to Thung Chang is 70km, needs about 90 minutes, but 2 to 3 hours with local bus.
These local buses travel during daylight starting from ~6am to 6pm (6am, 8.30am, 10.30am, 2pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm).
If you are in the Nan Airport, you can walk (1km) from the airport to the main road and wait for the red bus at the opposite side of the road (to north direction), this means you do not have to go into Nan town (south direction) again.
For some flight which might arrive Nan airport quite late, you have to be fast to catch the last red bus (6pm), or use a taxi, otherwise you might have to stay over night in Nan town, and take the red bus on the next day. Please tell your transport driver to drop you at Seven-Eleven shop in Thung Chang.
**When you exist the Nan Airport building, that is not the main road yet, you have to go to the right and it takes about 5-10 minutes by walking distance to arrive the main road, ask if you are not sure the about the direction.
Incase you need a taxi from Nan town or airport to our farm, inform us. It is usually 1000 Baht per trip.
There is Song Teaw, from Nan Bus Station to Thung Chang almost everyday about 2-3pm, but it is uncertain, sometime it leaves a little earlier or later.

From Pua : You can get Song Teow from the station to arrive our farm. We can also book a local taxi to pick you up, 400 Baht per trip.
From Chiang Mai : about 5~8 hours by own transport, 350km. If you take the "Green Bus" from Arkhid Bus Station to Thung Chang, it will take about 7~9 hours. It is important to buy the "Green Bus" ticket one or two days earlier in advance, because it is always being sold out. You can see more information about Green Bus Ticket here. Please tell your transport driver to drop you at new Seven-Eleven shop in Thung Chang.
From Chiang Rai : 5-8 hours by own transport. For public tranport, you have to arrive main bus station in Chiang Rai before 8.30 am to buy the ticket on the spot, the bus will leave Chiang Rai on 9.30a.m. and there is one trip per day. From Chiang Rai Bus Station, you take the bus (usually you cannot book this ticket in advance) which is heading to Nan, BUT you can drop yourself in Tha Wang Pha (a town which is 1 hour from Nan town), this means you do not have to arrive the center of Nan town. In Tha Wang Pha, you can use local bus or Song Teow at the station to our farm, or we can also arrange local taxi to pick you up, 500 Baht per trip.
From Bangkok : About 10-12 hours by bus from Mochit Bus Station, 750km. In Mochit Bus Station, there are 3 bus companies that you can choose (8.50am, 6pm, 6.30pm, 8pm, 8.30pm), which are 999 transport company, Sombatt tour company, and Chertchai tour company. Sombatt tour and 999 transport company will stop in Bang Chak gas station in Thung Chang, we can pick you there. But for Cherchai company buses you have to inform the driver to drop you at the new Seven-Eleven shop, or you can also stop at Cherchai company bus station. There are also many domestic flights such as "NOK AIR" and "AIR ASIA" available from Bangkok to Nan.
From Den Chai : 5~7 hours by “Nakhon Nan Yan Yon Minivan”, push off daily on 4.30a.m.
From Phrae : 4~6 hours by “Nakhon Nan Yan Yon Minivan”, push off daily on 5.30a.m. and 2.30a.m. daily at bus station.
From Phitsanulok : to Thung Chang 2.30pm and 5.30pm daily.
From Laos : 1 hour, 50km. More trips if there is demand (usually Saturdays, when Huay Kon border market is open). Our volunteers like to have their Visa Run here. There are transports from Luang Prabang and vans from Huay Khon boarder going to Nan direction, you can take these vans and drop at Seven-Eleven shop in Thung Chang.
For crossing to Laos boarder from Thailand, please check your visa.
From Chaloem Prakiat (Thai- Laos Border): 1 hour by “Nakhon Nan Yan Yon Minivan”, push off daily on 12.30p.m.
We can always arrange LOCAL TAXI for you no matter where you are in NAN province! So, do not worry about arriving to Sahainan.
*For local taxi arrangement to pick you directly to Sahainan Farm, please prepare the approximate fee are as follow:
-from Thung Chang: 100 Baht per trip,
-from Chiang Klang: 200 Baht per trip,
-from Pua: 400 Baht per trip,
-from Tha Wang Pha: 500 Baht per trip,
-from Nan: 1000 Baht per trip

*When you arrive Thung Chang:
Once you arrive Thung Chang, drop your self at the bus station, Bang Zhak Petrol Station, or new Seven-Eleven Store (Thung Chang Seven Eleven Map Location )

Wait 20-30 minutes for transport to pick you up and take you to the farm. Sometime we need 1 hour if we have emergency farm jobs in the farm.
*There are some bus station which write "Thung Chang" as "Tung Chang", "Tung Cang", "Thungchang", or "Thung Cang", bear in mind that they are the same place with only different spelling.
*Please ask the ticket counter properly that you are heading to Thung Chang(more north than Nan city), not just Nan city. Please double check your bus ticket and make sure that you are dropping at Thung Chang, not Nan city. We have many volunteers who bought the wrong ticket and ended up dropping themselves at Nan which is still 70km from our farm. In this case, you will have to take another taxi again to Thung Chang.
*Please kindly inform us about your arrival time and date one or two days before your arrival.
*Domestic flights are available from Bangkok to Nan, and from Chiang Mai to Nan.
*Travelling time is depending on the transport and traffic situation.
*For convenience, if you take Greenbus company, please tell your transport driver to drop you at Seven-Eleven shop in Thung Chang (there are 2 Seven-Eleven here, drop you at the new one, which is opposite Bang Chak petrol station). Most buses from bangkok will automatically drop you at the Bang Chak petrol station.
